After reviewing the newly proposed plans that have been submitted I still have objections which again I will give to you in 4 keys points.

1: As I brought up in my first objection letter We have a right to Natural light and the fact still remains that 3 of my main house windows (kitchen, dining room and our bedroom) are on the side of our property which the proposed 2 storey extension will be overlooking, and blocking out a substantial amount of our Natural daylight.

2: We consider ourselves very lucky to live in Otterton, in an area with outstanding views and natural beauty. After looking through the revised plans with my husband, the fact still remains the same the above proposed is still not in-keeping with the outer exterior look of other houses along our lane. The proposed extension is of such a size the view looking to the back of our properties is going to look very out of place with what is already in situ. Our neighbours from 1 and 4 park lane were granted planning for an extension because their proposals were of such a size that they blend in with their current dwellings.

3: Again we only have a single track road leading to our property, and we feel the impact of the large amount of construction work which will be needed to complete the proposed extension will have an impact on us entering and exiting our property. Myself, my husband and my daughter all work full time, my daughter is a key worker within the NHS and does various shifts throughout the week and weekends, and we are extremely worried how this will affect the access to our property.

4: We have lived in Otterton now for a few years and have settled into village life really well. We have made good friends with our neighbours and look to extend this curtesy with the new owners of number 2.
But it saddens me to think that the new owners could not have come to us and given some pre warning of the proposed plans they were about to put in to the council, I'm aware that they are not obliged to do so but given that we all live in a close nit community in the village I feel that it would have been polite for them to do so.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind Regards
Mr and Mrs R Johnson.

To whom it may concern.

Re: Planning Application for 2 Park Lane, Otterton, Budleigh Salterton, Devon EX9 7HY.
Proposal for construction of 2 storey side and rear extension, and a single storey rear extension.
Ref Num. 20/2174/FUL

I would like to outline my concerns and objections for the above proposed in 4 keys points.

1: We consider ourselves very lucky to live in Otterton, in an area with outstanding views and natural beauty. After looking through the plans with my husband, we feel the above proposed will not be in-keeping with the outer exterior look of the other houses along our lane. The view looking to the back of our properties is going to look very out of place with what is already there. Our neighbours have had extensions built but they have all been of such a size that they blend in with their current dwelling.

2: We have a right to Natural light and 3 of my main house windows (kitchen, dining room and our bedroom) are on the side of our property which the proposed 2 storey extension will be overlooking, and I'm concerned this will block out the natural daylight we currently get through these windows.

3: We only have a single track road leading to our property, and we feel the impact of the large amount of construction work which will be needed to complete the proposed extension will have an impact on us entering and exiting our property. Myself, my husband and my daughter all work full time, my daughter is a key worker within the NHS and does various shifts throughout the week and weekends, and were worried how this will affect the access to our house.

We would like to lodge an objection to Planning Application no: 20/2174/FUL at no 2 Park Lane Otterton, for many reasons:

1. It would be vast over-development of the plot. The proposed side extension would be far too close to the adjacent house No 3 Park Lane.

2. The two storey extension to the back of the house would overlook the garden and conservatory of No 9 Maunders Hill (formerly No 5 Park Lane on the plan provided) and be only yards away from the existing boundary fence.

3. We must object to the Juliet balcony. If this was a bedroom with a window as No 1 and No 4 Park Lane it could be acceptable but as a family room it could be occupied during the day with the doors opening looking directly above into our garden and conservatory.

4. This is a group of just four houses in Park Lane, nearly 75 years old, and are pleasing to look at. No 1 and No 4 Park Lane are very similar with the extensions they have. Both have a rear two storey extension but the proposed extension to No 2 would look quite out of place in contrast.

5. The additional information states that a Gas Condensing Boiler would be installed - there is no gas in Otterton. The house is heated with oil at the present time. There is no provision on the plan for an oil tank and housing or safe housing for calor gas containers.

6. We have a concern over a soak away solution for surface water. With the proposed increased roof space this could mean the back garden of No 9 Maunders Hill could become a quagmire, they state that there is a decline north on their plans.

7. These former council owned properties have proved to be an 'affordable' housing solution for local residents. Of the six houses in this group four are occupied by people who have lived in Otterton most of their lives.

8. We consider that if the building were granted planning permission its sheer size would put it out of the understanding of 'affordable housing'

an Idox solution
