The base and tree works are acceptable to be conditioned within the application, and would satisfy the arboricultural comments.

I have read the information a submitted and conducted a site visit, it appears that this large shed is to situated under the low canopy of protected trees. There is no details on the foundation construction and ground level changes, impact/root protection of trees or how the rainwater will be returned to the affected tree roots, until this is received it is difficult to make an informed response

I note the comments of the parish council and the tree officers. I object to this application on the basis that insufficient evidence has been put forward by the applicant. As these are one of the most prominent rows of trees in the village, I am very concerned about prospective development under the canopy.

This application was considered at West Hill Parish Council meeting on 16th July 2019. Councillors were concerned that the proposed outbuilding would be sited under the canopy of protected trees. No details of construction methods, particularly with regards to the footings have been provided. Councillors unanimously objected to the application due to the potential adverse impact on the nearby trees.
